Kaoli Isshiki

Kaoli Isshiki (一色 香織, Isshiki Kaori), also Kaoli Isshiki-Didier, is a Japanese soprano based in France. She has performed and recorded a repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music as both a member of vocal ensembles as a soloist.

Life and career

Isshiki studying singing at the Tokyo University of the Arts.[1] Fascinated by French music, she moved to Paris in 1996 to complete her studies at the École Normale de Musique de Paris.

Vocal ensembles

In France, Isshiki has collaborated with vocal ensembles and choirs including Accentus , Musicatreize [fr], and the Nederlands Kamerkoor.[1] She has also worked with the Chœur de Radio France [fr], A Sei Voci, the Ensemble William Byrd[2] and the Ludus Modalis.[3]

Soloist

Isshiki has worked as a soloist with ensembles including Ensemble intercontemporain, Il Seminario Musicale, Ensemble 2e2m and the Baroque Graffiti[4]

She has given recitals of works by Debussy, Poulenc, Fauré, Sadao Bekku, Hideo Kobayashi, and Hikaru Hayashi.

Recordings

Isshiki has also participated in recordings, including Circé by Dominique Lemaître [fr] for soprano and 8 cellos, Micromégas by Paul Méfano, as La Bonimenteuse, L'Arbalète magique by Tôn-Thất Tiết, as Princes Mi-Châu. In 2004 se took part in a DVD Le Tombeau, after Marc-Antoine Charpentier's work, performed by Il Seminario Musicale.[1]
